Lapini loomingu popkunsti perioodi kuulub esimene Eesti originaalkoomiks „Benno Bladrikorni elurõõm, arvamused ja mõttetu surm kohvikus Pelegria“.

2021. aasta lõpul trükkis Leonhard Lapin sellest teosest eraldi üksikteostena graafilised sarjad, mis jäid tema viimaseks trükisarjaks enne tema lahkumist 2022. aasta veebruaris.

Leonhard Lapini 2018 aasta KUMU isiknäituse “Tühjus ja ruum” kaasnevas raamatus lk. 174 – 175

Lapin is the author of the first Estonian comic book, which was “Benno Bladrikorn’s joy, opinions and pointless death in the Pelegria café”, which, although using a comic format, was not actually a comic book in itself. Lapin is also the author of the first printed comic book, “Paul Pudding’s Idea”, an absurd vision of the future of technological development, which appeared in the magazine “Pähklipureja” (crossword section of the magazine Noorus 1970/1971).

At the end of 2021, Leonhard Lapin printed a series of graphic works from this work as separate works, which remained his last series of prints before his death in February 2022.

In the accompanying book of Leonhard Lapin’s 2018 KUMU solo exhibition “Void and Space”, pp. 174 – 175
