Houston event place 1: Orange Show Center for Visionary Art
The Orange Show Monument has been a memorable venue for some of Houston’s best and most eclectic cultural performances for the past 40+ years, with a rich history of hosting concerts, performance art and other one-of-a-kind happenings from nationally and internationally recognized artists and performers on a regular basis.
Throughout the year, the Orange Show curates site-specific art installations designed to integrate contemporary works of art from emerging and established artists within the context of our folk art environments.
The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art produces year-round classes and workshops for children and adults interested in expressing their personal creativity and learning new skills.
Houston event place 2: SHFL Theatre House and Art Gallery
Houston’s venue for art, theatre, electronic music, jazz, hip-hop, rock, and art.
For twenty years SHFL has hosted live music, theatre plays, puppet shows, independent films, art workshops and exhibitions.

Houston event place 3: Easy Credits Gallery
Easy Credits Gallery is situated in the centre of Houston Downtown, Main street 314 in legendary notsuoH (Houston backwards). Over the past twenty-four years, notsuoH has become a legendary hangout for artists and the site of various performance art, poetry readings, concerts, plays, musicals, and occasional uncategorizable events.
Texas curator Jim Pirtle. Estonian curator Al Paldrok. Curators are selecting artists from their countries and organising the program.
Project objective and aims The aim of the project is to introduce Finno-Ugric Art in the center of the Texas, Houston, the largest city in the state of Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States and to promote cultural diplomacy between Finno-Ugric and foreign professionals and audiences, and to internationalize Finno-Ugric culture. Introducing top level artists of Finno-Ugric visual art, film and poetry and performing arts in Houston to international audiences and establishing new contacts all over the world. Our overall objectives for the festival are:
- To foster new opportunities for Estonian artists and art professionals to enter into intercultural dialogue with their peers in Houston, Texas and all over the world;
- To activate and strengthen network inter-cultural exchange and trans-national collaboration between Finno-Ugric and Texas art professionals.
- To realize the trans-national circulation of Finno-Ugric artists.
- To contribute to the broadening of cultural engagement and pedagogical engagement for new audiences for future generations.
- To support Finno-Ugric cultural environment supportive of diverse practices, nonmainstream practices and supportive of artists.
